Admission is a donation at the door, with proceeds given to a local breast cancer support group.
Pirates of the Chemotherapy chronicles the struggles and triumphs of six breast cancer support group members, as they cope with their diagnoses, symptoms, and treatments; face death, and embrace life. Schutte’s piece offers hilarious and tragic moments, and has been praised by cancer survivors across the country for being a clear-eyed, honest, and uplifting portrayal of “what it’s like” to be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Rogue Theater is presenting the show as a staged reading, featuring local actresses Jen Birkholz, Pamela Kraase Johnson, Lori Wier, Rebecca Paulsen, Carol Jensen-Olson, Keri Grimsley, and Jamie Buesing, under the direction of Lola DeVillers.
This show is sponsored by the Door County Medical Center. After each performance, there will be an opportunity for audience questions as well as information provided by the Women’s Center of Door County Medical Center.
